Day 13: Open it up
Sometimes we let our avoidance stagnate our financial lives. We might have a fear of looking at our finances because we don’t know what we’re going to find when we take a close look.
But remember, clarity is power. And we both know how powerful you can be.
Step one:
In the name of clarity and power, today’s challenge is to open any unopened financial mail. If you don’t have any of that, take today’s #MoneyLove time to really study a recent piece of financial mail (like an investment statement or even your paycheck stub) that you've not really taken the time to read thoroughly before.
If there are any parts of it that you don’t understand, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Ask the person in charge of payroll at your office to walk you through your company’s 401K plan to figure out if you're taking advantage of it. Google how to read an investment statement if you’re not sure what the different sections mean.
Financial literacy leads to financial abundance, period.
Step two:
Weigh in on the online community about how it went. Did you learn something new about your financial life today? Did you figure out how to read that statement that’s been eluding you for years? Share with us! If you share publicly, use the #MoneyLoveChallenge hashtag and urge your community to take a closer look at their financial statements, too. Clarity is power!
Financial literacy is hot. And so are you.
